Is this the best you can offer!

Postby volksrich » Mon Jan 04, 2010 4:43 pm

Wow what a potential this kit has, and yet, there is a close to freeware quality software included in the box!

Is anyone in Gisteq realizing what a super potential this GPS unit has with the proper software.
This could well be the Iphone of the business trip report!

I have searches the web and there you were, the concept is brilliant, there is no subscription services, you buy the gismo, you install the software, you plug it in you car and you drive!
This package is a no brainer, ANYONE can use this thing!!!

Why is the software so lousy?
Is there a million dollar R&D required?
Why is there a forum, when there is never any interaction with the users? Lots of very very good suggestion and questions that are , in the most case, a very easy thing to add or to fix...

There is probably so little to make this kit a "Killer App". This is a case where a company is sitting on a gold mine and yet nothing is being done to make the software up to standard.
Always amazes me to see unfinished stuff that could be worth millions!

At this price, anyone could afford one, making a better software would secure customer referral in masses...

What is wrong with Gisteq????

I'm pretty much in agreement. Clearly not written by someone who has to keep mileage logs for the IRS. They really don't care about your average speed.

Software also needs a feature to sort and create printouts by type travel type, i.e. business, personal, etc. so you can keep track of all your mileage but only turn in printouts of business mileage to your boss. Currently it can only be done with a lot of work in Excel. It would also be nice to be able to split trips.

Yes there is a potential gold mine here. And if they don't get to some serious digging soon, someone else is going to get to that gold first. It would really no big deal for the "Garmins" out there to add this type of logging to their existing GPS units and then the Gisteq system totally fades into history.

I agree with your assessment. If the software was functional I would like to sell it myself. I have a TravelEyes tracker and the software is very functional. The report is easy to read.and print.
