I've tested the connection a few times with a few scenarios: download a few successive times without disconnecting the tracker, with disconnection the tracker between downloads, trying to download without the tracker connected and then directly downloading again, changing usb port, etc. All the times it downloads without a problem! I'm very pleased with this. Great work guys!
@ teaman: I think you'll allways need some software to download the tracks from the trackr. I think this is hardware related. The trackr uses some usb to serial connection. The mac software is free, no actications and works good for downloading the tracks. You can export the files directly to gpx to use your favorite tool to tag the photo's or use the functions of the software.
There are alternative trackers which can be mounted as a flash drive, but I didn't find one which is powered with standard batteries. Most of the alternatives need a computer to be charged, or an outlet. I charge a few batteries when I have an outlet available and can be in the middle of nowhere for a few days. Every device has it's pro's and cons, this one is working for me.
