bluetooth receiver and phototrackr software combo advantages

Postby justaques » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:55 pm

Hi,

I would like to ask what has been people's experience using it this gisteq bluetooth receiver just as a normal Bluetooth GPS receiver?

Also, what extra facility/convenience the phototrackr pro software provides that any other GPS geocaching software like RoboGeo, Oziphoto cannot provide?

The reason I'm asking is there are definitely other better data loggers. So what advantage this combo (gisteq bluetooth and phototracker pro) provides that other softwares combined with other bluetooth data loggers cannot provide?

Thanks a lot.

Maybe there are better dataloggers. And if you only want a datalogger, perhaps you should get something else?

There are a couple of reasons I can think of why the PhotoTrackr package is good.
-It is an all in one solution (for me). It logs and from one application I can both view the paths and update the photos.
-It can support RAW-format images from my camera. I see jpgs only as a possible output from my digital negatives (the RAW images) so I naturally want to put the geocodes in them.
-Bluetooth functionality means that I can if necessary use the device with my laptop or phone to get my position on a map. I have no idea how useful it would be for a 3D-map view software as I don't have that.
