DPL900 Mini and GPSBabel?

Postby thanatica » Wed Mar 31, 2010 7:29 am

Does anyone know whehter it's possible to download GPS logging data from a DPL900 Mini, using GPSBabel?

There are some metions of Gisteq stuff around GPSBabel, but I couldn't find a way of doing what I want, by just looking into the documentation. I'm guessing I need to use the "nmea" import filter, and use the device's virtual COM-port as the source. But how can I find out what other parameters/options I need to set?

The thing is, the software that comes with the device is an incredible piece of bloatware. It's waaaaay to much for just plain simply downloading logging data to a GPX file. THat's ALL I need for now, so I want to just do with a simple commandline utility. From that, I could build a script to put the GPX into whatever else I want, automatically.

So, does anyone have a step-by-step guide on how to do this? Or at least a definitive confirmation that this is possible?

Thanks!
