Troubleshooting
- Unable to connect the PhotoTrackr
- Make sure PhotoTrackr is connected to the computer via the supplied USB cable
- If the PhotoTrackr is already connected to the computer but still can’t be detected in the software, unplug the PhotoTrackr, wait a few seconds, plug in the PhotoTrackr, restart the PhotoTrackr application and try again. You might also need to restart your computer or try a different USB port.
- Error message “Can’t detect GPS tracker’s COM port, please set the COM port manually” shows up when trying to download trip record or change hardware settings
- Unplug the PhotoTrackr from the computer, wait a few seconds, plug in the PhotoTrackr and try again.
- If the program were still unable to detect the COM port of the PhotoTrackr, the COM port can be set manually. To find out what COM port the PhotoTrackr is using, go to Control Panel->System->Hardware tab->Device Manager, then double click on the Ports (COM & LPT), the port number will be shown next to the title GiSTEQ PhotoTrackr . For example, GiSTEQ PhotoTrackr (COM9) indicates the PhotoTrackr is currently using COM9.
- You might also need to restart your computer or try a different USB port.
- The images were added to the program before the corresponding trip records were downloaded to the program, so their locations can’t be determined.
- You can re-analyze the previously added images’ locations after new trip records have been downloaded, follow the steps described in section V.a - Re-analyze Image Location.
- Unable to obtain GPS times during camera time synchronization
- Take the PhotoTrackr to open sky and wait for the PhotoTrackr to acquire a GPS fix then try again. Details steps are described in Section IV.2.ii
- Unable to see the maps where the photo is located
- Make sure the photo has associated location information.
- Make sure the PhotoTrackr program is running at a computer that has internet connections.
- Make sure you have obtained the Google Map API key (refer to Section IV.2.v)
- Unable obtain a Google Map API Key. How should I reset the Google Map API screen?
- Go to Settings
- Click Software Tab
- Delete all the code in Google Map API Key option
- Click OK to save
- Click on any sample trips to trigger the Google Map API screen
- Sign in with your google account
